Requires JDK 1.1 (browser versions 4 and higher);
Fully cross-browser, cross-platform solution with the following
exceptions:
- When using this on old Macs (early OS9 or before), both aesthetics
and performance may not be as good due to the variable quality of
java support on old Macs. On OSX, aesthetics and performance, are, by
contrast, excellent. OSX even adds highly attractive shadow effects
around the submenus.
- Old Windows NT 4 systems which are running the Microsoft VM for Java build 3167 (or thereabouts)
are advised to upgrade their VM for java. Advice on upgrading can be obtained
here.
